The place lies in the natural spatial unit Bärbroicher Höhe .

history

In 1770, Peter Moll built an iron smelting furnace, the Dürscheider Hütte, in Dürscheid am Dürschbach . The inventory value of this hut was given in the 1854 balance sheet at 19,820 thalers . At that time, a new blower machine was installed there, which enabled the blast furnace to continue to run in the event of a lack of water in the Dürschbach. In this hut, which was also called Peter Paul Eisenhütte , up to 3,000 kg of pig iron could be produced daily. However, she worked with interruptions of several years and gave up her activity altogether in 1859. The owner at that time was the mining association Friedrich-Wilhelmshütte zu Mülheim an der Ruhr.

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 as Petri Pauli Eisenhütte and on the Prussian first survey from 1845 as an ironworks . From the Prussian new admission of 1892, the place is regularly recorded on measuring table sheets as Dürscheiderhütte . The street there is called Dürscheider Hut .

Under the French administration between 1806 and 1813, the Porz office was dissolved and the parish Dürscheid , to which Dürscheiderhütte also belonged, was politically assigned to the Mairie Bensberg in the arrondissement of Mülheim am Rhein . In 1816 the Prussians converted the Mairie to the mayor's office in Bensberg in the Mülheim am Rhein district .

The municipal and Gutbezirksstatistik the Rhine Province leads Dürscheiderhütte 1871 with a house (ironworks) on without inhabitants.

In the list of the Kingdom of Prussia for the 1885 census, Dürscheiderhütte was recorded as the residential area of the rural community of Bensberg in the Mülheim am Rhein district. At that time a house with four inhabitants was counted. In 1895 the place had three houses with 15 inhabitants and belonged to the Catholic parish of Dürscheid, in 1905 two houses and eight inhabitants are given.

Due to the Cologne Act , the municipality of Kürten was merged with the previously independent municipalities of Bechen and Olpe and parts of the city of Bensberg to form the municipality of Kürten with effect from January 1, 1975 . Dürscheiderhütte also became part of the municipality of Kürten.

Today the buildings are only used for residential purposes.
