The Dürschbachtal nature reserve runs along the Dürschbach between Dürscheid and the fish farm in Parborn north of Klefhaus .

description

The nature reserve comprises several valley sections of the Dürschbach with structurally rich riparian forests and red alder trees on groundwater soils . There are also spruce stands that are to be gradually converted into semi-natural mixed deciduous forests . Numerous small-scale spring corridors , moorlands and alder swamps are remarkable . In the bank area there are many small bodies of water that are of regional importance as a habitat for adapted animal and plant species.

Vegetation and protection

The Dürschbach and its Bachaue are of outstanding importance for the networking of habitats and biotope networks of floodplain areas, wet and wet meadows and rivers. The protected area was designated for the preservation and development of the brook sole valley. It's about:

  • Preservation and development of near-natural small bodies of water and ponds with silting zones as important habitats for various animal and plant species. A special protection applies to the occurring amphibians .
  • Conservation and development of near-natural, structured and species-rich floodplain forests,
  • Preservation of the older red alder trees accompanying the water as an element that shapes the landscape and as habitat trees for adapted animal species,
  • Securing the function as a biotope network area is of paramount importance.
