- A second arm follows, which has four more arms. Their source areas are in the vicinity of Bechen , Schnappe and Herweg . They unite on Odenthaler Straße and there extend to the municipal boundary just before the Liesenberger Mühle .
Vegetation and protection
The protection was placed to secure, maintain and develop the structurally rich and natural source area with a rich biotope complex. The area consists of several spring hollows, spring corridors, wet and wet grassland as well as hillside and riparian forests. In detail, the following protective purposes were set:
- Securing the function as a biotope network area of outstanding regional importance,
- Preservation and development of the near-natural spring origins and spring meadows,
- Preservation and development of the headwaters and the diverse stream valleys as a typical landscape section and habitat in the vicinity of the settlement,
- Preservation and safeguarding of the water quality of the near-natural spring sources and the Scherfbach flowing water in the valley floor.
