The Kalkbuchenwald nature reserve between Hove and Weyermühle is a nature reserve in the Dürscheid district of the municipality of Kürten in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .
description
The protected area encompasses the wooded hillside east of the road from Hove to Weyermühle including the sloping forest slopes to the Weyerbach .
Vegetation and protection
The protection designation was made for the preservation and development of a floristically significant occurrence of a limestone beech forest with special characteristics. The following protection purposes are defined in detail:
- Preservation and development of the mixed beech forest as a habitat for numerous endangered plant species, especially geophytes and adapted plant species on calcareous soils,
- Preservation and development of a beech forest on a hilltop as a typical landscape section ( hilltop , hillside forests, rock edges and sinkholes ) in the area of the Paffrath Kalkmulde landscape ,
- Preservation and development of forest communities that have become rare and typical of the Paffrather Kalkmulde landscape, in particular the pearl grass and woodruff beech forests.
