The Breibachtal nature reserve is a nature reserve in the vicinity of Breibach in the municipality of Kürten in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .

description

The nature reserve is located in the Breibach valley between Breibach and Broich , where the stream flows into the Kürtener Sülz . It includes the valley floor with tall perennials - wet fallow land , wet meadows and meadows . In the northern part is separated by a road on a lower slope a rough pasture .

Vegetation and protection

The protection designation was made for the preservation and development of near-natural floodplain habitats with damp and wet grassland, extensively used grassland, flowing water, small bodies of water, floodplain trees. The following protection purposes are specified in detail:

  • Preservation and securing of the protected biotopes: quarry , swamp and alluvial forests, wet meadows rich in sedges and rushes , spring areas and natural and near-natural areas of flowing and standing inland waters,
  • Protection, care and development of the communities linked to the aforementioned poor and humid locations as well as adapted and rare animal and plant species,
  • Preservation and development of the Siefental as a typical and diverse landscape section and open valley area in the vicinity of the settlement.
