The nature reserve Alemigsiefental is an elongated notch valley in the municipality of Kürten in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . It begins its course with two heads south of Hähn und Hufe through the valley between Engeldorf and Unterbörsch and borders on the Dürschbachtal nature reserve near Klefhaus to the south .
Surname
The nature reserve takes its name from the Alemigssiefen , a tributary of the Dürschbach, flowing through it .
description
Due to the abandonment of grassland management, moist tall herbaceous meadows have developed in the floodplain of the nature reserve, some of which are covered with bushes. In the north the valley narrows. This is where the two arms of the spring are located, from which the stream that flows to the south arises. Particularly noteworthy is the structural richness in the sometimes well-soaked floodplain caused by the alternation of grassland with different forms of wet and wet meadows as well as fallow land and alluvial forest . There is a problem in the southern section due to the encroachment associated with the task of use and especially due to the penetration of the glandular balsam as an invasive neophyte . The area is part of the regional river network in the Bergisches Land and is therefore of importance as a habitat for animal species in unpolluted rivers.
Vegetation and protection
In detail, the following protective purposes were set:
- Preservation and safeguarding of protected habitats, which are: breakage , marsh and swamp forests, marshes , reed beds , sedges - and bins rich wet meadows, source areas and natural and semi-natural areas running and standing inland waters,
- Securing the function as a biotope network area of outstanding importance,
- Preservation and development of the valley area as a valuable secondary habitat for numerous animal and plant species, some of which are threatened,
- because of the diversity and the multitude of near-natural biotope structures and the special beauty of the wooded headwaters and the entire stream valley.
In order to achieve and maintain the protective purposes, it is forbidden to spread , use or store liquid manure on the neighboring areas.
