The mayor Bensberg was one of nine mayors in the district Mülheim on the Rhine in Cologne Region in the Prussian Rhine Province . It was created in 1816 from the Mairie Bensberg , which was built by the French in the Grand Duchy of Berg . With the Prussian  law regulating various points of the municipal constitutional law  of December 27, 1927, the mayor's offices were finally abolished and the mayor's offices were transferred to the municipality of Bensberg .

The mayor's office was in the east of the district and bordered on the north of the Bergisch Gladbach mayor's office . Clockwise, it bordered the Wipperfürth district to the east, the mayor's offices of Overath and Rösrath to the south, and the mayor's office of Merheim to the west .

Infrastructure

The mayor's office had several train stations on the Cologne-Mülheim-Lindlar line , specifically Bensberg, Forsbach , Untereschbach, Immekeppel and Obersteeg . In 1923, Bensberg had a second class post office and postal agencies in Refrath, Herkenrath, Dürscheid, Immekeppel and Obersteeg. There were 60 telephone lines at the time. Bensberg had had electric light since 1913, the outlying areas since 1921.
