Klein Buchholz (Bergisch Gladbach)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Klein Buchholz

Klein Buchholz was a farm in the Königsforst on Brüderstraße (Cologne – Siegen) in the Moitzfeld district of Bergisch Gladbach . Today there is only the residential building shown on the left, about 300 meters from the former courtyard, in the immediate vicinity of federal motorway 4 .

history

Gut Klein Buchholz was a high or late medieval settlement. In 1386 it was first documented with the name Boichholtz . The original cadastre records the farm at Am kein Buchholz in 1827 . Together with the Eselssiefen ancillary estate, it was in a feudal relationship with the Lehnhof Sulsen (= Immekeppel ). The farm burned down around 1820. As a result, the owner at the time, Franz Heuser, built a new residential building with an attached stable in the immediate vicinity of the old courtyard.

Desolation

The farm was called Wüstenbuchholz until the 18th century . It may be that it got the name because of its lonely location; perhaps there was also a period of temporary desolation . The courtyard, which was newly built around 1820, was completely burned down on March 6, 1979 at the instigation of the state forest . This created another permanent desertification.
