history

Tub designations

In the original map from 1827 to 1870, the area around the present-day settlement of Wulfshof bears the name Im Birkenbusch . Here was the location of the Berzelius mine . About 500 m further south-east in the area of the former Apple mine , the term Auf der Winten was used . The vernacular took this as an opportunity to refer to the whole area as winter or winter mountain (dialect Wenkter or Wenkterberch ).

The Winfriedheim

After the Berzelius mine had ceased operations in 1924, the diocesan association of Catholic journeyman's associations acquired the site in 1925 and set up a so-called construction hut , which was named Winfriedheim. In addition, a carpentry workshop , a bakery , a tailor's shop , a cobbler's shop , a forge and a locksmith's shop were built . In manual work one produced, among other things, utensils for equipping churches , schools and institutions in needy communities at low prices. Education and training were also part of the institution's tasks.

The country year home

The Winfriedheim was banned in May 1933. Now, in the time of National Socialism , a country year home was set up here . From now on it was said:

“Since the takeover of power by National Socialism, there has been a fresh, lively train in our communities. The National Socialist state and community leadership pursues with tireless zeal the overcoming of the still existing emergencies and the construction in economic, social and cultural areas: they work for the long term, they shape the future. "

- West German observer from April 12, 1935

At the same time, the place name was changed to Wulshof in the same year . The place has kept this name to this day. The Max Baermann GmbH , a manufacturing company of plastic bonded permanent magnet, has been here since 1943 its headquarters.
