Bökenbusch, street front

Bökenbusch is a district in the Moitzfeld district of Bergisch Gladbach .

history

In connection with the municipal reorganization through the amalgamation of the two originally independent cities Bergisch Gladbach and Bensberg , it turned out that both cities had the street name Heidgen . Therefore, the village of Heidgen had to be renamed for the Bensberg area. The name Am Bökenbusch was chosen here in 1976 . This took up the name Im böken Busch , which is recorded in the original cadastre for Heidgen, which formerly belonged to Immekeppel . The defining word Böken means beech in dialect . The Bökenbusch is therefore the beech forest.

On the south side of the road there is a larger beech forest in which there are several houses.
