Kaule is a district in the Alt Refrath district of the city of Bergisch Gladbach in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .

Location and description

Kaule is north of Halbenmorgen in the area of the street Auf der Kaule . The name of the tub Auf der Kaule refers to the late medieval court settlement Refrather Kaulengut .

history

Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking names the court on his charter of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as Kuhlen . It emerges from it that Kaule was part of the Refrath honor in the parish of Bensberg at that time .

Under the French administration between 1806 and 1813, the Porz office was dissolved and Kaule was politically assigned to Mairie Bensberg in the canton of Bensberg . In 1816 the Prussians converted the Mairie to the mayor's office in Bensberg in the Mülheim am Rhein district .

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 without a name. From the Prussian new admission in 1892, it is regularly recorded on measuring table sheets as Kaule or without a name.
