Stachelsgut is a district in the Alt Refrath district of Bergisch Gladbach .
history
The old name for the settlement Das Stachels Gut has been preserved in the name Stachelsgut , which is recorded in the original cadastre west of Altrefrath town center in the area of today's street Stachelsgut. The Stachelsgut was founded in the Middle Ages and was owned by the von Merheim ministerial family in the 13th century and called the Wirtsgut until the 17th century . Probably in the 10./11. The inn, laid out in the 19th century, was close to the old Refrath church , where visitors to the church were entertained. There is evidence of the owner with the name Stacius zu Mullem for 1645 . From this the name Stachiusgut or Stachels Gut has developed. The early modern personal name Stacius / Stachius was formed from the saint's name Eustachius .
