history

The name Junkersgut goes back to an early medieval court establishment, which is recorded in the original cadastre as Das Junkers Gut . It is one of the oldest settlement centers in the entire Refrath area. Originally it was called Riprode , which means something like "clearing on the brook / bank". The name Junkersgut is first recorded for the 14th century and goes back to the Junker family, a knight dynasty to which the Riprode farm had passed.
