Lichtor is a district in the Alt Refrath district of Bergisch Gladbach .
history
The name Lichtor picks up on the old name Am Leichenthor , which is recorded in the original cadastre west of the center of Refrath in the area of today's street Am Lichtor . The Lichthor / Leichenthor formed a passage in the village fence of the original Refrath settlement, the buildings of which were located around the old Refrath church . The name Lichtor referred to the Lichweg that led to the church. This Lichweg or Leichenweg was a historical route that was mostly reserved for the transport of corpses. In general, every honors had such a path.
