The Immekeppel station was on Lindlarer Strasse in the Immekeppel district of Overath in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . Opposite was on the south side of the street the treatment plant the pit apple .

history

The section of the Cologne-Mülheim-Lindlar railway from Hoffnungsthal to Immekeppel was opened on December 1, 1891. This was the end point of the Sülztalbahn for around 20 years, until the line to Lindlar was put into operation in 1912 . Immekeppel station belonged to station class IV. It had three tracks and a siding to the loading ramp for general cargo and wagon loading traffic. It was also one of the few small train stations with a water crane for steam locomotives.

Reception building

The former station building is located at Lindlarer Straße 25. It was built in 1890. Inside the building there was a ticket office with a door and a turntable. Then there were waiting rooms for classes 2 and 3. In waiting room 2, a train station manager provided the passengers with food and drinks. The station master lived in the attic. Engine drivers, stokers and conductors could also spend the night here, which was regularly necessary at terminal stations on branch lines.
