Location of Lerbach in Bergisch Gladbach |
Lerbach is a district in the Heidkamp district of Bergisch Gladbach .
history
The name of the settlement Lerbach refers to the medieval manor Lerbach , which was first mentioned in 1384 and is recorded in the original cadastre as Unter Leerbach . The founding of the settlement became known after the Lerbach brook , which runs east along the settlement. The defining word of the water body name Ler probably goes back to the Middle High German lei / leie (= rock, Schifergestein), according to which Lerbach could be interpreted as Felsbach .
