Location of Hüttenstraße in Bergisch Gladbach

Hüttenstraße is a district in the Heidkamp district of Bergisch Gladbach .

history

The street was named in 1893 after its destination, the former zinc smelter of the Berzelius mine . A workers' settlement for workers from the zinc works was built here. Today it is a connecting road between Senefelder and Bensberger Straße.

During the municipal reorganization in 1974 through the Cologne Act , it was found that there was also a Hüttenstrasse in the Refrath district . Because Heidkamper Hüttenstrasse was directly adjacent to the old zinc hut, it kept its name. Refrather Hüttenstrasse was renamed Hüttenfeld .
