Hüttenfeld is a district in the Refrath district of Bergisch Gladbach .
history
The original name of the settlement Hüttenstraße was changed to Hüttenfeld as part of the municipal reorganization in 1974 by the Cologne Act , because there was also a Hüttenstraße in the Heidkamp district of the Zinkhütte . The original name was based on the old winning designation Auf der Hüttenstrasse , which is recorded in the original cadastre in the area of today's Hüttenfeld . The field name made reference to the high medieval farm Hüttengut.
There are two different interpretations of the determinant hut . First, it can be a hut according to the Middle and New High German meaning for a fairly modest dwelling. Second, hut can be set synonymously with Huck in field names (from Old High German “hako” or Middle High German “hake” = hook, in an acute angle ). Then it would be the shape name of a field.
