Wingertsheide is a district in the Frankenforst and Refrath districts of Bergisch Gladbach . The smaller southern part belongs to Frankenforst, the larger northern part to Refrath.
history
The name Wingertsheide is based on the old tub designation An der Weingardsheide , which is recorded in the original cadastre north of Kempershäuschen . The term Wingert / Weingard corresponds to the Old High German "wingarto" (= vineyard, vineyard) or the Middle High German "wingart" and denotes a vineyard or a vine culture. Viticulture was still practiced here until the 18th century.
The Wingertsheider Gut is mentioned for the first time in 1660 . The builder was Thom von der Wingartsheyden. As early as 1773 there was an inheritance split into four parts among his descendants.
