Location of Schreibersheide in Bergisch Gladbach |
Schreibersheide is a district in the Heidkamp district of Bergisch Gladbach .
history
The name Schreibersheide is first recorded for 1648. In 1858 the settlement still had 25 residents, but by 1905 the number of residents decreased to 18 people who lived in two residential buildings.
etymology
The interpretation of the name of the settlement Schreibersheide as the court clerk's court in the heath is probably incorrect. Because the dialect form op de Schliebeschheed reveals the original form Schliebeschheed . The defining word Schlebusch served to distinguish the settlement from the other heather places and denoted a sloe bush , i.e. a black thorn with particularly hard wood. The basic word heide referred to the topographical location on the Bergisch Heidesandstrip.
