Alejandra García ( Alejandra García Flood; born June 13, 1973 in Buenos Aires ) is a former Argentine pole vaulter .

Before establishing her discipline in women's sports, she competed in high jump , long jump and heptathlon . At the Athletics South American Championships in Lima in 1993 she won silver in the high jump and at the Ibero-American Championships in 1994 bronze in the long jump. In 1995 she won the South American Championships in Manaus in the pole vault (it was her second competition ever in this discipline) and was fifth in the heptathlon at the Pan American Games in Mar del Plata . The following year she won bronze in the high jump at the Ibero-American Championships.

After her final move to pole vault, she won silver at the 1997 South American Championships in Mar del Plata and at the 1998 Ibero-American Championships.

In 1999 she won the South American Championships in Bogotá and the Pan American Games in Winnipeg and was eleventh at the World Athletics Championships in Seville .

In 2000 a victory at the Ibero-American Championships was followed by a preliminary round at the Olympic Games in Sydney .

The following year she defended her title at the South American Championships in Manaus , but did not get beyond qualification at the World Championships in Edmonton . In 2002 she won again at the Ibero-American Championships. In 2003 she won her fourth title at the South American Championships in Barquisimeto and was eliminated from the preliminary round at the World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis .

In 2004 she won silver at the Ibero-American Championships and came 13th at the Olympic Games in Athens .

A bronze medal at the South American Championships 2006 in Tunja was followed the following year by silver at the South American Championships in São Paulo and fourth place at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro . At the 2007 World Cup in Osaka, she failed in qualifying.

In 2008 she won bronze at the Ibero-American Championships and was eliminated from the preliminary round of the Olympic Games in London .

In 2009 she won bronze at the South American Championships in Lima , and in 2011 she was sixth at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara .

She was Argentine champion in pole vault fourteen times (1995-2006, 2010, 2011). In addition, she was twice national champion in the high jump (1992, 1996), in the long jump (1995, 1996) and in the 100-meter hurdles (1995, 1996).
