Hauserhof is a district in the municipality of Kürten in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . In old writings one reads the name Hauser Hof .

Location and description

The place is on the Weyerbach north of Dürscheid . Hauserhof borders the Steeger Berg nature reserve to the south . Additional buildings have been erected here in recent years. The farm has largely given up its agriculture and now maintains a riding stables.

history

The first written mention was made around 1294 in connection with the founding of the Kommende Herrenstrunden . Until then, the Hauser Hof belonged to the Sander Hof , to which the Sander Court Court attached to it was subordinate. That changed with the settlement of the Order of St. John in the neighboring village of Herrenstrunden , where he established a commandery with the branch of his order of knights . From now on the Hauser Hof belonged economically to the Kommende Herrenstrunden.

In terms of the church, however, the farm remained connected with the neighboring hamlets of Weyermühle and Meiswinkel with the parish of Sand . Due to this curiosity, the residents were not allowed to visit the nearby church in Dürscheid or the church in Herrenstrunden a little further away for the prescribed worship, but were regularly forced to walk the long way across the two parish districts to Sand. It looked similar for the political affiliation, because Hauserhof belonged to the Honschaft Sand in the Botenamt Gladbach and not to the neighboring Honschaft Dürscheid in the Botenamt Herkenrath. It was not until 1859 that the village was moved to Bensberg.
