Katharinaglück is a residential area in the municipality of Kürten in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .

Description and location

Katharinaglück is located between the districts of Steeg and Miebach on Wipperfürther Straße. The place comes from the former Katharinaglück mine . Today the house at Wipperfürther Straße 171 is located here on the dump of the former conveyor tunnel .

history

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 as St. Katharinen Zechenhaus . From the Prussian new admission in 1892, it is regularly recorded as Katharina's luck on measuring table sheets . At that time, Katharinaglück belonged to the municipality and mayor's office of Kürten in the Wipperfürth district .

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province of 1888, Katharinaglück is given as a place to live with one house and three residents. In 1905 the place had a house with three residents and belonged to the parish of Dürscheid .

In 1927 the mayor's office in Kürten was transferred to the office of Kürten. In the Weimar Republic in 1929 the offices of Kürten were merged with the municipalities of Kürten and Bechen and Olpe with the municipalities of Olpe and Wipperfeld to form the office of Kürten. The Wipperfürth district became part of the Rheinisch-Bergisch district on October 1, 1932, with its seat in Bergisch Gladbach .

In 1975 the current municipality of Kürten was established on the basis of the  Cologne Act , to which, in addition to the offices of Kürten, Bechen and Olpe, a sub-area of ​​the city of Bensberg with Dürscheid and the surrounding areas was added.
