Oberselbach is a residential area in Kürten on the western border with Bergisch Gladbach . It is located in the Dürschbachtal along the L 298 southeast of Broichhausen and northwest of Klefhaus .

The settlement area as such only emerged after 1974. Until then, there were no buildings here. The name Oberselbach comes from the Upper Selbach. Selbach means brook in the damp lowlands. This means the Dürschbach . Colloquially one speaks of dr Selbich.
