Ahlenbachermühle is a district in Kürten , Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis .

history

The word Ahlenbach is the dialect of Altenbach , a flowing water coming from the north that drove the Ahlenbacher Mühle shortly before its confluence with the Kürtener Sülz .

Under the French administration between 1806 and 1813, the Steinbach office was dissolved and Ahlenbachermühle was politically assigned to Mairie Olpe in the canton of Wipperfürth in the Elberfeld arrondissement . In 1816 the Prussians converted the Mairie to the Olpe mayor in the Wipperfürth district . At that time Ahlenbachermühle belonged to the village of Olpe, which in 1845 became the municipality of Olpe.

The place is recorded on the topographical recording of the Rhineland from 1824 as a mill and on the Prussian first recording from 1840 and the Prussian new recording from 1892 as Altenbacher Mühle . After that it is regularly referred to as the Ahlenbacher Mühle on measuring table sheets .

In 1822 seven people lived in the town of Ahlenbach, which is marked as a mill . The place was assigned to the office of Olpe and the parish of Kürten. In 1830 the place had seven inhabitants and was called Ahlenbach Mill . He was counted in the parish of Kürten. The town, which was categorized as a fruit mill and house according to the overview of the government district of Cologne in 1845 , had two houses at that time. At that time, eleven residents lived in the place called Ahlenbachermühle, all of them of Catholic faith. The place was now assigned to the parish of Olpe. The municipality and estate district statistics of the Rhine Province lists Ahlenbachermühle in 1871 with one house and ten residents. In the parish dictionary for the Rhineland province from 1888, two houses with 23 inhabitants are given. In 1895 the place had three houses and 20 inhabitants, the place was called Altenbachermühle. In 1905 the place had three houses and 21 inhabitants and belonged denominationally to the Catholic parish of Olpe.

In 1927 the Olpe mayor's office was transferred to the Olpe office. In the Weimar Republic in 1929 the offices of Kürten were merged with the municipalities of Kürten and Bechen and Olpe with the municipalities of Olpe and Wipperfeld to form the office of Kürten. The Wipperfürth district became part of the Rheinisch-Bergisch district on October 1, 1932, with its seat in Bergisch Gladbach .

In 1975 the current municipality of Kürten was established on the basis of the Cologne Act , to which, in addition to the offices of Kürten, Bechen and Olpe, a sub-area of the city of Bensberg with Dürscheid and the surrounding areas was added.

The Ahlenbacher Mühle

The Ahlenbacher Mühle was a grain mill . In address books for the years 1885 to 1888, a BP Welzer is named as the owner. In 1911 the mill is owned by Robert Berger , whose occupation is given as a farmer , innkeeper, miller and baker . In 1940 the mill received a new but used water wheel from the Funkenhofmühle in the Scherfbachtal .

A restoration named Zur Post has been set up in the mill building since 1895 because the post office was on the opposite side of the street. The restaurant was renamed Zur Mühle in 1936 . A bakery has been located in the mill building since 1936. On the right was the associated house.
