history

Scheid was first mentioned in 1301 as van me Scheyde and in 1352 as van dem Scheyt . The place name is of the -scheid name type (without a preceding personal name).

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 and on the Prussian first survey from 1840 as Scheid . From the Prussian new admission in 1892, it is regularly recorded as Scheid on measuring table sheets .

The municipal and Gutbezirksstatistik the Rhine Province leads Scheid 1871 with seven houses and 23 residents. In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland from 1888, six houses with 25 inhabitants are given. In 1895 the place had four houses and 20 residents.
