history

Oberhausen was the titular place of the Bergische Honschaft Oberhausen until it was added to Honschaft Bensberg with the Honschaft Altenbrück . The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 and on the Prussian first survey of 1840. From 1892 onwards, when the Prussian was added, it is regularly recorded on the measuring table as Oberhausen or without a name.

Due to the Cologne Act , the city of Bensberg was merged with Bergisch Gladbach to form the city of Bergisch Gladbach with effect from January 1, 1975. Oberhausen also became part of Bergisch Gladbach.
