Scheurenhöfchen is a district in the Bärbroich district of Bergisch Gladbach .

history

The early modern settlement Scheurenhöfchen was after 1500 as a church property in the possession of the parish of Sand . At that time it was in the northeast of the municipality of Immekeppel . In the original cadastre there is an entry of the settlement with two courtyard buildings on the Gewann Aufm Scheuerhöffches field . According to the records in the Hebebbuch of the Herkenrath messenger office , the settlement had a total of 31 acres of land, 12 acres of arable and pasture land, 1 acres of gardens and 18 acres of bush and coppice. The term Scheuren was created as a subsidiary form of Scheuer and describes a barn that is used to store the harvest.

According to the overview of the government district of Cöln , the place categorized as a "farm" owned a house in 1845. At that time there were eleven people living in the village, all of them Catholic. The spelling of the place name at that time was Scheuerhöfgen.
