history
The village of Dorn is an early modern settlement that belonged to the Immekeppel district in the early 19th century . In the original cadastre it is mentioned as "Am Dorn" south of the Branderhof . The natural name Dorn is derived from the Old High German Dorn / thorn (= thorn, thorn bush). As a field name, the word generally designates a thorn bush, or specifically the hawthorn bush .
According to the overview of the government district of Cöln , the place categorized as “farm goods” had two houses in 1845. At that time there were eleven people living in the village, all of them Catholic.
