Michael Joseph Wacha (born July 1, 1991 in Iowa City , Iowa ) has been a professional American baseball player since May 30, 2013 in the position of starting pitcher in Major League Baseball , who has been under contract with the New York Mets since 2020 stands. Before that, he played for the St. Louis Cardinals for seven years .

Wacha was in the 1st round ("Pick 19") of the MLB Drafts 2012, committed by the Cardinals as an amateur .
