from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Honschaft Breidbach was from the Middle Ages to the 17th century, a Honschaft in the parish Odenthal in office Porz in the Duchy of Berg .

A tax list dating from 1586 shows that the Honschaft was in the northeast of the parish. At the time, the honors included the residential areas Großgrimberg , Dhün , Bömerich , Grimberg , Heide , Schickberg , Feld , Bömberg , Eichholz , Neschen , Landwehr , Großeheide , Bülsberg , Großspezard , Winkelhausen , Scheuren , Königsreich , Busch , Keffermich , Unter- and Oberhortenbach , Stragholz and the titular places Unter- and Oberbreidbach .

After the parish of Odenthal became the dominion of Odenthal in 1634 , no honors are known. From Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking's 1789 map of the Duchy of Berg, it emerges that the Odenthal parish was divided into the Unterodenthal and Oberodenthal Lower Churches and no longer into honors. The area of the Honschaft Breidbach then belonged to Oberodenthal.
