Location of Großeheide in Odenthal

Großeheide or Große Heide is a district in Oberodenthal in the municipality of Odenthal in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . It is located east of Neschen on the Great Dhünntalsperre .

history

The court listeners were entitled to compensation for their work in building the manor house with church and mill in Odenthal . They received this through the allocation of land that they could clear and colonize. In this way, Großeheide , which means “large piece of the heather”, was created as a fiefdom of the court in Odenthal. A document dated September 5, 1515 shows that Großeheide and two estates belonged to the Dhuner court court . A tax list from 1586 shows that the village was part of the Breidbach community in the Odenthal parish.

The Topographia Ducatus Montani of Erich Philipp Ploennies Leaf Office Miselohe , shows that the living space in 1715 as Vielhof has been categorized with grose Heid was called. From the chart of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 by Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking, it is clear that Großeheide was part of Oberodenthal in the Odenthal rulership at that time .

Under the French administration between 1806 and 1813, the rule was dissolved and Großeheide was politically assigned to Mairie Odenthal in the canton of Bensberg . In 1816 the Prussians converted the Mairie to the mayor's office in Odenthal in the Mülheim am Rhein district .

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 as Großheide and on the Prussian first survey of 1840 as Grosseheide . From the Prussian new admission in 1892, it is regularly recorded as Großeheide on measuring table sheets .
