Hunger is a district in Oberodenthal in the municipality of Odenthal in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . It is located on Scheurener Strasse east of Altenberg .

history

Hunger takes its name from the previously known term " night pasture" for cattle .

It was first mentioned in 1586. This is a tax list from the Porz office , in which a Friedrich zum Hunger is listed who had his residence in the Honschaft Scherf . The village was part of the Scherf community at that time.

Around 1600 the married couple Johann and Drutgen Knevell got hungry in great need. The debts grew over their heads, so that Johann Knevell was locked in the debt tower. His friend Peter Reiffen deposited 130 thalers and released him from this predicament. In return, the Knevell couple leased their farm to Hunger for an annual lease sum of 10 Talers to the Reiffen couple for 13 years. With that the debt was paid off again.

For the year 1791 was a list of Kurmutpflichtigen courtyards and goods released, is mentioned in the famished, the for Honschaft belonged "Scherven". The Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies , Blatt Amt Miselohe , shows that the residential area was categorized as two courtyards in 1715 and was labeled with hunger . Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking names the court on his charter of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as hunger . It shows that Hunger was part of Oberodenthal in the Odenthal rulership at that time .

Under the French administration between 1806 and 1813, the rule was dissolved. Politically, Hunger was assigned to the Mairie Odenthal in the canton of Bensberg . In 1816 the Prussians converted the Mairie to the mayor's office in Odenthal in the Mülheim am Rhein district .

The place is regularly recorded as hunger on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824, on the Prussian first survey from 1840 and from the Prussian new survey from 1892 on .
