Nussbaum is a district in Oberodenthal in the municipality of Odenthal in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . It is located northeast of Eikamp in a side street off Alte Wipperfürther Straße on the border with Kürten .

history

The oldest written document for the Nussbaum farm dates back to 1363. It says that a farm “boeven zu Blecheren” of the Altenberg Abbey had to pay seven shillings a year from a piece of arable land behind the farm “am Nussbaum” “Lay. In the register of members of the brotherhood from 1513, Gottschalk zu Nussbaum and his wife Katharina are listed in the Odenthal brotherhood book .

From the chart of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 by Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking, it emerges that at that time Nussbaum was part of the Bechen honor in the parish of Kürten in the district court of Kürten. He names the place as walnut .

Under the French administration between 1806 and 1813, the Steinbach office was dissolved and Nussbaum was politically assigned to the Mairie Kürten in the canton of Wipperfürth in the Elberfeld arrondissement . In 1816 the Prussians converted the Mairie to the mayor's office in Kürten in the Wipperfürth district . At that time, Nussbaum belonged to the municipality of Bechen .

The place is regularly recorded as walnut on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824, on the Prussian first survey from 1840 and from the Prussian new survey from 1892 on .

In 1895 the place had four houses and 21 residents. In 1905 the place had four houses and 17 residents.

In 1927 the mayor's office in Kürten was transferred to the office of Kürten. In the Weimar Republic in 1929 the offices of Kürten were merged with the municipalities of Kürten and Bechen and Olpe with the municipalities of Olpe and Wipperfeld to form the office of Kürten. The Wipperfürth district became part of the Rheinisch-Bergisch district on October 1, 1932, with its seat in Bergisch Gladbach .

In 1975 Nussbaum came to the municipality of Odenthal due to the Cologne Act .
