Schöne Aussicht is a residential space in Unterodenthal in the municipality of Odenthal in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .

Location and description

The village is located in the west of the municipality on the border with Leverkusen am Hahnenberg. The name goes back to the view over the Cologne Bay, which, however, no longer exists due to the development of the Hahnenberg . For many years, the Schöne Aussicht was a restaurant that was closed in 2014.

The village now forms a closed settlement area with Glöbusch and other residential areas, so that it is no longer perceived independently. The street name Schöne Aussicht goes back to the village.

In the 19th century, the residential area belonged to the Odenthal mayor's office in the Prussian district of Mülheim am Rhein .

The location is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 and on the Prussian first survey of 1840 Knüppelhaus . As of the Prussian new admission in 1892, the village is regularly listed on measuring table sheets as Schöne Aussicht or without a name.
