Erberich is a district in Unterodenthal in the municipality of Odenthal in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . It is located at the height of the mountain road that leads from Odenthal to Burscheid .

history

On November 11, 1157, Pope Hadrian IV certified the existence of the foundation of the women's monastery in Füssenich , listing all the goods in the monastery. There was also a courtyard in "Erteburche" ; from this name first "Erburch" and later "Erberich" developed. In a document dated February 9, 1373, Erberich was referred to as a village . This means that at that time there was already more than a single farm here.

A surviving tax list from 1586 shows that the village was part of the Blecher community in the Odenthal parish.

The Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies , Blatt Amt Miselohe , shows that the residential area was categorized in 1715 as a village without a church and was named Erpach . Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking names the court on his charter of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as Erberich . It shows that Erberich was part of Unterodenthal in the Odenthal rulership at that time .

Under the French administration between 1806 and 1813 the rule was dissolved and Erberich was politically assigned to the Mairie Odenthal in the canton of Bensberg . In 1816 the Prussians converted the Mairie to the mayor's office in Odenthal in the Mülheim am Rhein district .

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824, on the Prussian first survey of 1840 as an inheritance . From the Prussian new admission in 1892, it is regularly listed as Erberich on measuring table sheets .
