Location of Neuenhof in Odenthal

Neuenhof was a residential area in Oberodenthal in the area of today's municipality of Odenthal in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .

Location and description

Neuenhof was on the road connecting Altenberg and Schmeisig on an elevation in the area. Today there is a parking lot there.

history

The Neuenhof is mentioned in 1402, when the farm came into the possession of the Altenberg monastery through an exchange with Duke Wilhelm II . It remained in its possession until the monastery was closed.

From the chart of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 by Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking , it can be seen that Neuenhof was part of Oberodenthal in the Odenthal rulership at that time .

Under the French administration between 1806 and 1813, the rule was dissolved. Neuenhof was politically assigned to the Mairie Odenthal in the canton of Bensberg . In 1816 the Prussians converted the Mairie to the mayor's office in Odenthal in the Mülheim am Rhein district .

The place is recorded on the Prussian New Admission from 1892 as Neuenhof . It is no longer entered on the measuring table sheet from 1936. Likewise, it is no longer listed in the parish dictionary from 1905.
