Höffe is a district in Unterodenthal in the municipality of Odenthal in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . It is located in the middle of the Scherfbachtal and borders with its north-western and eastern side on the nature reserve Scherfbachtal (Odenthal) . In the eastern part of the Hambach flows into the Scherfbach .

history

The proper name Höffe is derived from “hoven” (farm), meaning at least two farms that belonged together. Overall, it was a feudal property of the lordship in Odenthal. The first documentary mention of Höffe comes from October 10, 1344, where a "Gottschalk von Hove" is mentioned; in the register of inhabitants from 1326-1344 he is listed as "Gottschalk von Scherf zu Höffe". At that time the village was part of the Scherf community .

The Guth in den Hoffen is listed in a memo on May 29, 1694 as a fief of the Hertehmenhof . As such, it had to pay nine Albus and five 2/3 Heller hereditary interest to the Herzogenhof .

During the War of the Spanish Succession , the Odenthalers also had to make their contributions to national defense. In this context, a “Conrad in den Höffen” is listed. He had to provide 6  fascines and 18  stakes . In addition, a "Fey Jans Wittib in Höffen with Wilhelmsguth" is performed, which had to provide 22 fascines and 66 stakes.

The Topographia Ducatus Montani of Erich Philipp Ploennies Leaf Office Miselohe , shows that the living space in 1715 as four farms has been categorized with courtyards was called. Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking the Hofschaft calls on its Charter of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as Höffe . It shows that Höffe was part of Unterodenthal in the Odenthal rulership at that time .

Under the French administration between 1806 and 1813, the rule was dissolved. Höffe was politically assigned to Mairie Odenthal in the canton of Bensberg . In 1816 the Prussians converted the Mairie to the mayor's office in Odenthal in the Mülheim am Rhein district .

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 and on the Prussian first survey of 1840 as courtyards . Since the Prussian new admission in 1892, he is regularly listed as a courtier on measuring table sheets . Höffe belongs to the Catholic parish Odenthal.
