Porzberg is a district in Unterodenthal in the municipality of Odenthal in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . It is on the same level as the main road that leads from Altenberg to Blecher .

history

For the first time Porzberg is a medieval fiefdom of Herrenhof wood of the Count of Berg mentioned. On February 9, 1373, the Porzberg is listed as a place to live for the lay judge of the Odenthal mayor's court Konrad zu Straßen . In that year the estate was bought by the Altenberg Abbey and remained in their possession until the monastery was dissolved.

In 1703 Porzberg had six fascines and 18 piles .

The Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies , Blatt Amt Miselohe , shows that the residential area was categorized as a courtyard in 1715 and was named Portsberg . Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking names the court on his charter of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as Portsberg . It shows that Porzberg was part of Unterodenthal in the Odenthal rulership at that time .

Under the French administration between 1806 and 1813, the rule was dissolved. Porzberg was politically assigned to the Mairie Odenthal in the canton of Bensberg . In 1816 the Prussians converted the Mairie to the mayor's office in Odenthal in the Mülheim am Rhein district .

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 and on the Prussian first survey of 1840 as Portzberg . From the Prussian new admission in 1892, it is regularly recorded on measuring table sheets as Porzberg or without a name.
