Grimberg is a district in Oberodenthal in the municipality of Odenthal in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . It is located on Neschener Straße east of Altenberg .

history

On October 10, 1344, a smithy is mentioned in Grimberg (also called Hainbergsgut or Hainbacherhof ), which was ascribed to the "blacksmith Konrad von Grimberg" ( de Gryntberg ). There was also a farm which, according to a document dated November 1, 1352 , was pledged by the married couple "Gobelinus Herzoge und Frau Nanna" as heir to Altenberg Monastery as security for the payment of a pension. Another document dated January 21, 1358 documents a place on the farm belonging to the couple "Everharf, called Gertrud's son up dem Grintberghe and his wife Bela" . As a result, there were already several farms in Grimberg at that time.

A tax list from 1586 shows that the village was part of the Breidbach community in the Odenthal parish.

The Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies , Blatt Amt Miselohe , proves that the residential area was categorized as Freyhof in 1715 and was named Grümberg . Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking named the courtship on his chart of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as Grimberg . It emerges from it that Grimberg was part of Oberodenthal in the Odenthal reign at that time .

Under the French administration between 1806 and 1813 the rule was dissolved and Grimberg was politically assigned to the Mairie Odenthal in the canton of Bensberg . In 1816 the Prussians converted the Mairie to the mayor's office in Odenthal in the Mülheim am Rhein district .

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824, on the Prussian first survey of 1840 and on the Prussian new survey of 1892 as Klein Grimberg . Later it is regularly listed as Grimberg on measuring table sheets .
