Bohn , formerly also known as Born , is a district in Unterodenthal in the municipality of Odenthal in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . It is located on the northern edge of Blecher .
history
With Bohn it was mainly a large meadowland. The place was first mentioned in documents for the years 1499–1502 under the name Gut zum Born . Every year he had to pay smaller taxes to Altenberg Abbey .
During the War of the Spanish Succession , the Odenthalers also had to make their contributions to national defense. In this context, a Johann zum Bohn is listed among other things . He had to provide nine fascines and 27 stakes .
In the Middle Ages, Bohn belonged to the Blecher family . At the end of the 18th century, Bohn was part of Unterodenthal in the Odenthal lordship . Under French administration between 1806 and 1813, the rule was dissolved and Bohn was politically assigned to Mairie Odenthal in the canton of Bensberg . In 1816 the Prussians converted the Mairie to the mayor's office in Odenthal in the Mülheim am Rhein district .
The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 and on the Prussian first survey of 1840 as Born . From the Prussian new admission in 1892, it is regularly recorded on measuring table sheets as Bohn or without a name.
