Oberkäsbach is a residential area in Oberodenthal in the municipality of Odenthal in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .

Location and description

Oberkäsbach is located in the southeast of the municipality, north of Altehufe . The Käsbach flows around the village in an anti-clockwise direction.

etymology

The name Käsbach comes from keis, keisa meaning the bend .

history

In the Odenthal brotherhood book of 1513, a Johann Weber and Mrs. Merge from Kiesbach are mentioned. In 1603 the Gut zu Keeßberg is listed as part of the Scherf honors in the tithe list. Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking names the court on his charter of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as Oberkesbach . It shows that Oberkäsbach was part of Oberodenthal in the Odenthal rulership at that time .

Under the French administration between 1806 and 1813 the rule was dissolved and Oberkäsbach was politically assigned to the Mairie Odenthal in the canton of Bensberg . In 1816 the Prussians converted the Mairie to the mayor's office in Odenthal in the Mülheim am Rhein district . In the 1840s, the Käsbacher Hof and Lengsberg with 242 acres of land belonged to Freiherr von Geyr-Schweppenburg .

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 and on the Prussian first survey of 1840 as Ober Käsbach . From the Prussian new admission in 1892, it is regularly recorded on measuring table sheets as Oberkäsbach or without a name.

A corresponding locality Niederkäsbach or Unterkäsbach no longer exists today. The Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies , Blatt Amt Miselohe , proves that the residential area was categorized as Freyhof in 1715 and was named u.Kesbach . On Carl Friedrich von Wiebeering's charter of the Duchy of Berg , Niederkesbach near Amtmannscherf is recorded northwest of Oberkäsbach . This location is no longer recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824.
