The Käsbach is a good 2.3 km long, south-southeast and orographically left tributary of the Scherfbach and belongs to the river system of the Dhünn , a tributary of the Wupper .

The Käsbach rises at an altitude of 189.8 m above sea level. NHN at Schallemich . It flows clockwise around Schallemich and flows out at a height of 104.3 m above sea level. NHN at Amtmannscherf in the Scherfbach.
Catchment area
The catchment area, almost two square kilometers in size, lies in the natural region of the Bechen plateau and is drained into the North Sea via the Scherfbach, Dhünn, Wupper and Rhine rivers.
It will
- in the northwest by the Scherfbach tributaries Schallemicher Bach and Steinhauser Siefen
- in the west by the Oberscheider Bach , a right tributary of the Rosauer Bach
- in the south by the Strunde , a tributary of the Rhine
- in the southwest through the Hambach , also a Scherfbach tributary
- and in the west through the Amtmannscherfer Siefen , another tributary of the Scherfbach
limited.
In the catchment area, z. Partly chalky clay , silt and sandstones of the Givet stage of the Middle Devonian were shaped. Of soil types clayey and silty dominate pseudogley brown soils with partly high usable field capacity .
The area is mostly forested in the western and northern areas, while in the southern and eastern areas forests, especially in the stream meadows, and agricultural areas alternate.
The hamlets Schallemich and Oberschallemich are located in localities in the source area , the village Eikamp and the hamlets Altehufe and Oberkäsbach in the south . In the south-west lies the north-east edge of the residential area of Straßen in the catchment area of the Käsbach.
