history

A preserved tax list from 1586 shows that the village was the titular place of the Honschaft Breidbach in the parish of Odenthal.

The Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies , Blatt Amt Miselohe , shows that the residential area was categorized as four courtyards in 1715 and was named Breibach . Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking names the court on his charter of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as Breibach . It shows that at that time, Unterbreidbach was part of Oberodenthal in the Odenthal rulership .

Under French administration between 1806 and 1813, the rule was dissolved and Unterbreidbach was politically assigned to Mairie Odenthal in the canton of Bensberg . In 1816 the Prussians converted the Mairie to the mayor's office in Odenthal in the Mülheim am Rhein district .

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 as Unter Breibach and on the Prussian first survey of 1840 as Unter Breibach . From the Prussian new admission in 1892, it is regularly recorded on measuring table sheets as Unterbreidbach or without a name. The place has always been part of the Catholic parish Odenthal.
