Jamie Moore (born November 4, 1978 in Salford , England ) is a retired British boxer and current boxing coach.

Career

Jamie Moore won his professional debut on October 9, 1999 prematurely against Clive Johnson. In April 2003 he beat the undefeated Michael Jones (record: 17-0) in the fight for the British championship and the Commonwealth championship in the light middleweight division. He then won three title defenses before losing to Ossie Duran in June 2004 by knockout. He won the British Championship back in July 2005 by beating Michael Jones again and defeated David Walker (23-2), Matthew Macklin (17-1) and Andrew Facey (19-4) in defending his titles. In July 2008 he won the Irish championship against Ciaran Healy.

On March 6, 2009 he defeated Michele Piccirillo (50-4) by knockout in the third round and won the vacant European Championship (EBU) in the light middleweight division, which he won on May 2 of the same year by TKO in the second round against Roman Dschuman (23 -6) defended. In October 2009 he lost the title to Ryan Rhodes (42-4).

In April 2010, Moore announced his retirement from competitive sports for health reasons.

After boxing

After his active boxing career, Moore became a Sky Sports commentator and boxing coach, overseeing the talents Jack Catterall, Tommy Coyle, Conrad Cummings, Rocky Fielding , Carl Frampton , Martin Murray and Steven Ward, among others .

In August 2014, Moore was shot and injured in Marbella . The attack is believed to have occurred in connection with organized crime.
