Michele Piccirillo
Michele Piccirillo (born January 29, 1970 in Modugno , Apulia , Italy ) is a former Italian boxer .
As an amateur Piccirillo captured the welterweight among others, the bronze medal at the European Championships in the Swedish city of Gothenburg in the 1991st
With the professionals he won the vacant IBF world welterweight title on April 13, 2002 by a unanimous decision on points over Cory Spinks ; lost it, however, in the direct rematch, which took place the following year, again to Cory Spinks.
