As judges all impartial persons are referred to the monitoring and compliance with the rules at a sporting event to make sure. Referees are commonly incorrectly referred to as “ referees ”, although not every referee is automatically a referee. However, in many sports the referee is the highest rank a referee can achieve.

In order to become a referee, you have to complete a course in the sport for which you want to work as a referee . Depending on the sports association, a referee training is carried out and the knowledge is then tested in theoretical and practical tests . Then the applicant receives a referee license for the lowest activities in the respective sports regulations. This license can be extended for higher referee tasks according to the deadlines specified in the sports regulations of the individual sports associations .
