Kamran Daneschdschu ( English Daneshjoo , Persian کامران دانشجو; * February 2, 1956 in Dāmghān ) is an Iranian politician and teacher at Iran University .

Daneschdschu, who is considered a radical Islamic conservative, was the governor of Tehran from August 29, 2005 to July 16, 2008 . He was then Minister for Science, Research and Technology from August 9, 2009 to August 17, 2013 in the second cabinet of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad . Because of his role in the Iranian nuclear program , Daneschju has been on the European Union's sanctions list since December 2011 .

Whether or not he has a degree is controversial, and Kamran Daneschdschu is confronted with allegations of plagiarism . Anyway, he is an alumnus of Queen Mary's College , Imperial College London, and Amirkabir University . He is banned from entering the United Kingdom for attempted arson in a Penguin Books store in London .
