Kandil (unit)

The Kandil , also known as a bar , was a measure of weight in various East Indian regions. Despite different dimensional chains, the weight was pretty uniform.

    • 1 catti = 20 boncals = 100 taels = 280 pagodas = 320 mayons = 1,600 mas = 6,400 cupangs

  • 1 Kandil = 20 Mauns = 160 Bises / Vis = 800 Seyras = 6400 Palims = 64,000 pagodas = 500 pounds engl. Avoirdupois

In coromandel was the dimensional chain

  • 1 Kandil = 20 Mons = 32 ½ Tolons = 65 Tarys = 130 Tukos = 162 ½ Bis = 800 Seyras = 65 Paloins = 65,000 pagodas = 480 pounds (French) = 500 pounds English. Avoirdupois
