Kannemeyeria is an extinct dicynodon from the Middle Triassic . Fossils of the genus have so far been found in Argentina , South Africa , India and possibly also in Australia . It probably had a worldwide distribution, during the Triassic all continents in the supercontinent Pangea were connected.
features
Kannemeyeria reaches a length of up to three meters and a weight of almost a ton. The body was barrel-shaped and heavy, the rib cage was very large, the shoulder girdle , pelvis and legs were heavy and massive. The muzzle was pointed and narrow. On the head which formed parietal bone (parietal) has a high crest.
Kannemeyeria belonged to the dicynodonts , a group of therapsids (formerly known as mammal-like reptiles). Presumably they lived in flocks.
